Cat saved with oxygen masks for children - January 2009

Firefighters rescued six cats that were trapped in a house went up in flames in the south of England, High Wycombe.

The firemen who came to extinguish the fire, have used the oxygen masks for children to revitalize the remaining cats intoxicated by the smoke and fainted.

A seventh cat unfortunately did not survive. A spokesman for the Buckinghamshire Fire Rescue Services explained that the owners at the time of the outbreak were all fortunately out of the house.

Firefighters made their way through the blanket of smoke, hoping to find the cat still alive.

"We went and we've searched all over the house. We found and taken outside.
Some of them were unconscious or non-existence of forces in a short time but have recovered," said a of firefighters involved in the operation.

Il Labrador di nome Buster, si è trovato ricoverato in terapia intensiva con un avvelenamento da cioccolato, dopo avere inghiottito le uove di pasqua trovate in casa a Derby. Questo perché, il cioccolato contiene un chimico chiamato teobromina, che può essere VERAMENTE MOLTO PERICOLOSO per i cani.

Fortunatamente, Buster ebbi un buon recupero, con ciò i veterinari say that this fact shows the importance of not sharing our chocolate with our dogs.

HODGE

Hodge era il compagno fedele e speciale di Samuele Johnson (1709-84) che è ricordato come un uomo di lettere del 18° secolo – il lessicografo, ed amante dei gatti. Il suo lavoro più famoso è il Dizionario della Lingua Inglese, pubblicato nel 1755.

Il nome 'Hodge' è una variazione di Roger ed era un nome tradizionale per un contadino inglese, pertanto, il gatto probabilmente proveniva da uno dei tanti viaggi in campagna, che Johnson faceva a quel tempo.

Hodge, amava le ostriche, che a quel tempo erano considerate un cibo conveniente e nutritivo, non di lusso come oggi giorno. Johnson, per evitare di chiedere alla servitù (che potevano risentirsi ed essere mal disposti verso Hodge) andava personalmente al mercato del pesce per acquistarli.

James Boswell (1740-95) divenne un amico e più tardi il biografo di Johnson, ammise che a volte, durante le sue visite, la presenza del gatto, lo faceva sentire scomodo. Addirittura confessò che era molto sorpreso dell’indulgenza with which Johnson was Hodge.

NOVO-OGARYOVO, Russia (Reuters) – Mercoledì scorso il cane del Primo Ministro Vladimir Putin ha divorato un rinfresco speciale che era stato preparato per i capi di stato della Russia.

Mentre Putin discuteva le varie possibilità d’aiutare l'industria Alimentare locale, il suo preferito Labrador nero di nome Koni, silenziosamente, piano, piano è entrato di nascosto in una delle stanze della residenza e si è tuffato nelle delicatezze che erano state preparate per il party organizzato per i capi di stato della Russia.

Love for any animal is never a story du limiti.Questa a Croatian family who painted their homes with white spots and black in honor of Bingo, their Dalmatian . Goran Tomasic and his wife Karmen have decided to redecorate their home, located in a small town north of Pribislavec, inspired by the mantle of Bingo.
The dog died last year, hit by a car in front of the house.
"I must confess that at first we had a little 'fear of what the neighbors would say. Maybe we would be asked to remove all the stains.

But we loved each other Bingo così tanto che abbiamo rischiato. Invece sono stati meravigliosi. Lui era amato da tutti" , ha dichiarato Goran.
